MAY’s owner, Shigenori, is a Japanese artist and designer from Wagayama in the North of Japan. You can see more of his wonderful work on www.redbubble.com/people/hayashi

His art combines modern Western influences with the traditions of Japan, and often in a very unusual mix of photography and painting.

We became very close friends courtesy of our respective dogs: My very own ‘Wind Dogs’ Loki, Skadi & Skuld – and Shigenori’s beautiful ‘Sheltie’ MAY.

I am extremely pleased to present and sell Shigenori’s unique pieces of art at the Wind Dog Café.

All MAY pictures £35 each (including frame).  Also available online through the Wind Dog Café website: www.winddogcafe.co.ukPlease email us if you would like to purchase any photographs.

New Artwork by our own ‘Dr. Mike’

Our own resident Yell artist, Dr. Mike McDonnell, has very kindly loaned us a brand new Artwork, entitled ‘Unchanging Men’s Fashions throughout the Ages’ – now on display at the Wind Dog Café!

Mike McDonnell has had several exhibitions in Shetland, mainland Scotland and Ireland. Some examples of his work are on permanent display in the Shetland Museum and Marine Hotel, Stonehaven, and in public collections in Aberdeen and Inverclyde.

Patrons who are familiar with Dr. Mike’s ‘Shetland Twelve Apostles’ will find that his new piece seamlessly continues on from where his previous work left off – and really ups the ante!

His unique take on ‘Men’s’ fashions’ is wonderfully executed in colour and shows that brilliant sense of humour which I think is so unique to our Dr. Mike’s artworks. You can not help but chuckle! J

I really hope that you will enjoy Dr. Mike’s new artwork over the next couple of months, until his ‘Shetland Twelve Apostles’ will come back to the Café in April.
